An old sofa rarely fits a Züri-Sack, and ERZ kerbside collection stops at roughly 25 kg per piece. We collect two-seaters, three-seaters, corner sofas, sofa beds, and armchairs from inside the property — no Sperrgutmarke, no stairwell pile.
If the sofa is already at ground level and under the ERZ weight limit, a Sperrgutmarke can be enough. For heavy corner units, upper floors without a lift, or a short handover deadline, booked pickup is usually simpler.
What we collect
Upholstered seating of any size and material. Mixed living-room pieces can be quoted with furniture or clearance if volume goes beyond the sofa.
Corner sofas and modular sets
L-shaped and U-shaped units. We dismantle sections on site where needed and carry them down one piece at a time — no weight limit.
Sofa beds and sleeper sofas
Frames with built-in mattresses. The sofa body and mattress are separated so each follows the correct recycling route.
Armchairs and loungers
Single upholstered chairs, recliners, and matching sets. Often combined with sofa pickup in one visit.
Electric and recliner sofas
Motorised seating with cables and control units. Electrical parts are routed via certified channels where required.
Bean bags and soft seating
Textile shells with EPS filling. Filling usually goes to licensed thermal recovery; covers are separated where practical.

Usable sofas go to donation first. Others are separated by material. We can confirm processing when a landlord requires it.
Fixed-price quotes
You receive a written price before the team arrives. Photos, postcode, floor, and lift access are what we need for an accurate quote.
- On this service, quotes for a 2-seater on the ground floor start from CHF 80.
- Larger sofas, corner units, upper floors, and electric components change the price — always confirmed in writing first.
- Carrying from upper floors is included in the quote as a CHF 5–10 per-storey surcharge — never added on the day.
- ERZ kerbside collection uses a Sperrgutmarke at roughly CHF 9 per item (max. ~25 kg) and does not carry sofas from inside the building.
If your sofa is already at ground level, under the ERZ weight limit, and you can move it yourself, a Sperrgutmarke can be the cheaper route. We say so when that is the case.
What happens after collection
Each sofa is assessed for donation or material separation. Landfill is not the default route.

How much does sofa disposal cost in Zurich?
Prices start from CHF 80 for a 2-seater on the ground floor. Larger sofas, upper floors, and electric components increase the price. You always receive a written fixed price before we arrive — no hourly rate, no surprise at the end.
Do you collect corner sofas from upper floors?
Yes. Corner sofas are disassembled on site where needed and carried down section by section. The floor surcharge of CHF 5–10 per storey is always included in the written quote. There is no weight limit.
What happens to my sofa after collection?
Usable sofas are offered to the Brockenhaus first. Others are separated by material: timber and foam go to licensed thermal recovery, steel springs to a certified scrap dealer, and textiles to a collection point.
How much notice do you need?
In most cases we can collect on the same or the next day. Send a photo via WhatsApp and we confirm availability within hours. During peak periods (January–March and May–June), booking a few days ahead helps.
Is there a weight limit?
No. Whether it is a 35 kg 2-seater or a 130 kg corner sofa, we collect it. ERZ accepts a maximum of about 25 kg per item in its bulky waste channel.
How is this different from the ERZ Sperrgutmarke?
ERZ uses a sticker at roughly CHF 9 per item and you must place the sofa at the kerb within the weight limit. We collect from inside the property, dismantle if needed, and take any size at the agreed fixed price. You do not need a Sperrgutmarke for our service.
Can I book sofa disposal and a professional clean together?
Yes. End-of-tenancy or post-clearance cleaning can be added through Züriclean under one coordinated visit — useful when a cleaning protocol is required for handover.
What cannot be collected through standard disposal?
Asbestos-containing materials, liquid chemicals, and heavily contaminated upholstery (for example after mould damage) need a licensed specialist. If you are unsure, ask before booking — we advise on the correct route under VVEA and ChemRRV.
