Electronics may not go in household bins or the Züri-Sack. TVs, fridges, washing machines, PCs, and small appliances must leave through authorised Swiss channels. We collect from inside the property — no trip to a Recyclinghof, and no guessing which drop-off accepts which device.
The VRB levy prepaid at purchase often makes retailer or ERZ drop-off free for single light items you can carry yourself. If you need home collection, upper-floor carry-out, bulk kitchen appliances, or refrigerant-safe fridge disposal, a booked pickup is the practical route.
What we collect
Household and commercial e-waste of any size. Mixed appliance rooms and office IT clearances can be quoted as one visit.
Computers and IT equipment
Desktops, notebooks, servers, printers, and networking gear. Routed via Swico Recycling so boards, drives, and metals are recovered correctly.
Fridges and freezers
Units with refrigerant gas under ChemRRV. Certified partners extract coolants before crushing — not suitable for ERZ kerbside or casual drop-off.
Washing machines and large white goods
Washers, dryers, dishwashers, and similar appliances over the ERZ weight limit. Dismantling for stair transport when needed.
Small household appliances
Microwaves, vacuums, kettles, toasters, and kitchen gadgets. Free SENS drop-off can work for one light item; we collect batches and kitchen clearances.
Phones, tablets, and batteries
Mobile devices with lithium batteries included at no extra charge when collected with other equipment. VRB free drop-off remains an option for single handsets.

Household electronics go to SENS, IT to Swico, and refrigerant units to ChemRRV partners. We can confirm processing when a landlord or handover requires it.

- Fridges and freezers requiring ChemRRV refrigerant extraction are routed through certified partners under SENS / Swico / VRB rules — logistics are in the Fixpreis, not a surprise fee.
If you have one small item (a laptop, kettle, or phone) and can transport it yourself, free SENS or retailer drop-off is usually cheaper. We say so when that is the case.
What happens after collection
Each device is routed to the correct licensed Swiss body. Landfill is not the default route for e-waste.

What is the VRB recycling levy?
The VRB (Vorgezogene Recyclingbeiträge) is a pre-paid recycling levy included in the purchase price of electronics sold in Switzerland. Drop-off at an authorised SENS or Swico point is often free. Home collection, floor carry-out, and bulk removal are logistics services and are charged separately.
Where can I drop off e-waste for free in Zurich?
Most household electronics can go free to an ERZ Recyclinghof, participating retailers (MediaMarkt, Interdiscount, Fust), or a SENS point. Single items must usually weigh under 40 kg and measure under 2.5 m. Above those limits — or without transport — a paid collection is required.
Can you collect a fridge or washing machine from an upper floor?
Yes. We regularly collect fridges (up to about 120 kg) and washing machines (up to about 100 kg) from upper floors without a lift. Floor surcharge CHF 5–10 per floor is in the quote. Fridge refrigerants are handled by ChemRRV-certified partners.
What is the difference between SENS and Swico?
SENS manages household electronics — TVs, fridges, small appliances, and tools. Swico handles IT and office equipment — computers, laptops, printers, servers, phones. Both work under the VRB framework. We route each item automatically; you do not need to separate them.
What should I do about data on hard drives?
Physically erase or destroy drives before handing devices to any disposal service. Software-only deletion is not enough for sensitive data. You can remove the drive yourself or ask us to refer a specialist. We collect machines with drives already removed without issue.
Do you clear office IT in bulk?
Yes. We handle SME and office clearances of 10–50+ devices, with a basic inventory on request, all routed through Swico. Furniture and shelving can be combined in the same visit.
Can I combine e-waste pickup with clearance and cleaning?
Yes. E-waste collection can be booked with apartment or overall clearance, and handover cleaning through Züriclean, as one sequence. Ask for a combined quote by WhatsApp or the booking form.
