Sperrgut from inside the flat, not only from the kerb
ERZ kerbside Sperrgut needs a sticker (about CHF 9), items under ~25 kg, placement by 7 am, and several working days’ notice — weekends excluded. We collect mixed bulky items from inside the property with no sticker for our service and no weight cap.
If pieces are already at ground level, within the ERZ limit, and you can move them yourself, stickers can still be the cheaper option. For upper floors, mixed loads, or a short deadline, booked pickup is usually simpler — and avoids illegal dumping fines.
What we collect
Combustible and mixed oversized household waste. Dedicated streams (sofa, carpet, kitchen, e-waste) can be linked when a load is mostly one category.
Mattresses and bed bases
Single pieces or sets with other bulky items. Mattresses follow certified processing rather than a Züri-Sack.
Carpets and flooring rolls
Rugs and fitted carpet rolled for transport. Heavy rolls that exceed ERZ limits are a common reason to book pickup.
Appliances and electronics
White goods and e-waste sorted into SENS/Swico channels. Fridges need ChemRRV-compliant refrigerant handling.
Renovation leftovers
Offcuts, old fixtures, and mixed project waste that does not fit a standard bag or sticker pile.
Garden and outdoor bulky items
Oversized outdoor pieces and mixed garden clear-outs. Pressure-treated timber is assessed for the correct licensed route.

Usable pieces to donation first; recyclables by stream; non-recoverable material to licensed thermal recovery. Landfill is not the primary route.
Fixed-price quotes
You receive a written price before the team arrives. Photos, postcode, floor, and lift access are what we need for an accurate quote.
- On this service, quotes for a single large item start from CHF 80; a full two-room clear-out can reach around CHF 650 depending on volume and access.
- A typical multi-item mix is often in the CHF 200–400 guide range when several bulky pieces go together.
- Carrying from upper floors is included in the quote as a CHF 5–10 per-floor surcharge when items do not fit the lift — never added on the day.
- ERZ kerbside collection uses a Sperrgutmarke at roughly CHF 9 per piece (max. ~25 kg) and does not carry items from inside the building.
If items are already at ground level, under the ERZ weight limit, and you can place them yourself, stickers can be cheaper. We say so when that is the case.

How much does bulky waste disposal cost in Zurich?

What is the difference between Sperrgut and Sperrmüll?
Sperrgut is the official ERZ term for combustible oversized waste such as furniture, mattresses, and carpets. Sperrmüll is the informal German word used colloquially. Both refer to large household items that cannot go in the Züri-Sack.
Do I need a Sperrgutmarke?
For ERZ kerbside service, yes — about CHF 9 each, max. ~25 kg per piece, from post offices and selected retailers. If you book disposal.ch, you do not need a Sperrgutmarke; the fixed price covers collection.
Can you collect from upper floors without a lift?
Yes. This is one of our most common requests. We carry items down staircases with appropriate equipment and protect walls, floors, and door frames.
What can you not take?
Asbestos-containing materials (licensed specialist required), liquid chemicals such as paints and solvents (Sonderabfall route), and gas cylinders. For everything else — furniture, electronics, appliances, renovation materials — we can help or advise on the correct route.
How much notice do you need?
Same-day or next-day is often available. Contact before noon for same-day in the Zurich area. Peak periods are January–March and May–June; booking ahead helps then.
What happens to the items after collection?
Usable pieces go to Brockenhaus or donation first; recyclables to certified streams (wood, metal, textiles separately); electronics via SENS/Swico; only non-recoverable material to authorised thermal processing such as Hagenholz.
Can you combine bulky disposal with clearance and cleaning?
Yes. For a full flat empty see apartment clearance; for besenrein cleaning we coordinate through Züriclean; overall clearance combines removal and clean in one plan.
