Clearing a Zurich apartment the right way
Whether you are ending a tenancy, downsizing, or handling an estate, a full clear means furniture, appliances, textiles, and boxed household items leave the flat — not just one or two pieces at the kerb.
ERZ kerbside collection uses a Sperrgutmarke (around CHF 9 per item, max 25 kg), needs advance notice, and does not carry from inside. For upper floors, heavy wardrobes, or a short deposit handover, we collect from the rooms and take the load in one booked visit. Illegal dumping in Zurich carries fines of CHF 200–1'000+.
What we clear from Zurich flats

Sofas and upholstered seating

Wearable clothing sorted for donation partners; unusable textiles for fibre recycling. Curtains, cushions, and rugs assessed on condition.

Crockery, books, tools, and mixed boxes. We sort on site into recyclable, donatable, and residual before loading.

If you have only one or two small items under 25 kg and can carry them to the kerb yourself, ERZ or a free Recyclinghof drop-off (Hagenholz, Altstetten, Wollishofen) is often cheaper. We say so when that is the case.
